Monday, June 26th members from all over District 7570 convened in Johnson City, TN to witness the passing of leadership with the installation ceremony of our new District Governor, Richard "Dick" Ray.  What a special ceremony for a special Rotarian!  2017 -18 is going to bea great year under Dick's leadership!

Richard Ray joined the Rotary Club of Johnson City in 1990 and has served as Club President, Secretary and Treasurer. He and his wife Ginger are Major Donors, and he is a Member of the Paul Harris Society, Benefactor, and Skelton Fellow. He previously served as Assistant Governor, and on the District Foundation Grants Committee, and Group Study Exchange Committee.

His passion is Community and Global Service. He has participated in multiple Community Peace projects in Bogota Colombia, Fighting Disease in Kapsowar, Kenya and providing mobility through wheelchair distribu-tion in Central and South America. He led a threefold increase in District Grant funding and introduced the Collaborative District Grant Program to our District. Rotary Service has taken him and his family to four con-tinents including service projects, youth exchange and International Conventions.

Dick Ray also is known to have fun! Having served on multiple District Conference Steering Committees, he understands the need for passionate fun-time! He has donned a horsehead and raced a cardboard stock car at past events and intends to lift a pint and take a pie in the face at our March 2018 District Conference.

He is a graduate of East Tennessee State University (BS Economics) and the University of Tennessee (Masters of Accountancy). Rising to Manager at Price Waterhouse, he then served as Chief Financial Offi-cer of Marley USA, traded on the London Exchange, for 12 years. He now consults in forensic accounting and business restructuring cases, and is certified in business valuation. Dick and his wife Ginger live in Jonesborough Tennessee and have three children and two grandchildren. They enjoy gardening, traveling, reading, scuba and horses.
